Looking back, I am really glad that I’ve made the choice to study at HKBU. It was a very fruitful year for me, I have taken a couple of elective courses that I was really interested in, and I am a lot clearer about my career path than before. The faculty members are all very friendly and willing to help, I have also made friends with many classmates whom I still see today.

If I can give any advice to you at all that will be this, no matter what’s your plan after graduation, make plan in advance. This is a very comprehensive programme, and the workload is quite heavy as well. It would be better if you could make a schedule beforehand, so you know what you want and get the most out of this one-year learning experience.

In terms of studying, most of the courses in MSc in Applied Economics are quite practical. I guess I am quite lucky because I have met many attentive and patient professors who are very kind and never hesitate to help students.
For my life at HKBU, I really appreciate that I have met some really good friends. They actually push me to be outreached and become more confident about myself. Never say “Never” without trying it yourself first. One has to look for very opportunities that come along. I have actually joined lots of activities, including gatherings, speeches, hiking trips, social networks, guiding courses of Career Centre and etc. Also, I love outdoor sports and being a foodie with my friends. So we always hunt for food and spent time together. All these experience definitely add color to my daily routine life.
To sum up, HKBU is a place I do love.  I have learned a lot from being part of HKBU, particular those friends I have met at HKBU or other events. It makes my days better and it is the main reason why I stay behind after graduation and work in Hong Kong. Thank you HKBU, all my dear professors and beloved friends.

It is really an amazing experience studying at MSc in Applied Economics (MScAEcon) at Hong Kong Baptist University. All professors in the Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance are nice and approachable. Most importantly, we indeed learned something meaningful and valuable from the lectures in various ways. Some courses are taught in traditional way, from which we gain professional knowledge. Some courses are more practical in nature, through which practical skills are mastered. Recall that members of our group and I have spent a lot of time in the computer laboratory for working on the project for the econometrics course. The team work experience of this course allows us to recognize how to collect data, how to formulate an empirical model and how to test the model with statistical software. It’s a wonderful experience to all of us that we are able to do analysis that we are interested in on our own.

HKBU Masters in Applied Economics (MScAEcon) as a natural choice for my postgraduate study is due to the program structure which promises to equip graduates with analytical skills and techniques for analyzing business and real world problems from the economic perspective. True to its (MScAEcon) promise, I was able to learn various analytical skills during my study which enables me to perform my present job as a researcher excellently. I also got to learn about economic growth, especially, the dynamics of the rapid economic growth experienced by China over the past three decades and the importance of culture in economic policy formulation. As an international student in Hong Kong, it is an expensive city to live in, at the same time, it is a great place to be. Interactions with my classmates exposed me to a whole new culture. Likewise, the professors are approachable and always willing to help. The library and computer laboratories are well equipped. All these enhanced my learning experience, ensured that my study period at HKBU was great and also prepared me for the future.
